Our Name

Law firms are usually named after their current partners. We chose a different path. Our firm stands in the tradition of outstanding criminal defense lawyers. Wolfgang Dingfelder and Andreas von Máriássy founded the firm in 1988. They established the approach that continues to shape our work today: mastery of traditional criminal defense is the indispensable foundation for successful work in every area of criminal law.

Their legacy and values continue to define how we see our role and how we act. Putting the client first as a person, and standing unreservedly for the client’s rights, is our tradition, our responsibility, and our compass. Never lose curiosity about life. Leave no question unanswered. Keep the client and the client’s interests at the center. Never allow the process to obscure the objective.

That is why we chose the name DvM Rechtsanwälte. It honors the firm’s founders, Dingfelder and von Máriássy, and stands for Criminal defense. As a matter of principle.
